The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.Position OverviewWorking as part of the Mailroom team, under the direction of the Mailroom Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for picking up, delivering and sorting: mail, specimens, pharmaceuticals, requisitions, ward stock-baskets, medical charts, x-rays, small parcels, lab results, etc. for all areas of the Health Sciences Centre according to an established daily schedule.Experience

  • Previous experience working in a mailroom for a large organization, with the ability to operate sophisticated mailroom equipment preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • On-the-job training provided by the Centre.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
  • Must be capable of memorizing and associating names and addresses for incoming mail with incomplete/inaccurate addresses.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Good interpersonal skills required.
Physical Requirements
  • Position involves long periods of standing and walking.
  • Periodically requires pushing, reaching, pulling, bending and lifting of heavy items.
