Merchant- Liquor, Eastern Canada

Our Liquor Centre of Excellence (COE) team brings innovative products and programs to over 450 stores in six provinces on behalf of our Market, Discount, and Wholesale divisions. We are currently on the hunt for a Merchant to support the Liquor COE team in Eastern Canada (Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick). Reporting to the Category Director, Liquor, the incumbent will have the opportunity to work alongside a team that is passionate, innovative and customer focused. What You\'ll Do:

Set and achieve goals for the category, working in collaboration with various colleagues across LCL divisions in merchandising, operations, promotions, supply chain, loyalty, e-commerce, marketing, and media.

Become an expert in liquor laws and regulations for your assigned area

Build positive relationships with category vendors and external partners.

Lead promotional programs from end-to-end, including product selection and forecasting, financial impact analysis, pricing decisions, vendor engagement, flyer and digital content, and evaluate program success.

Prepare and send out store communications (store training materials and store merchandising standards)

Use data and analytics to build strategic plans that best serve customers, and that achieve intended financial outcomes.

Support the Category Director in assortment optimization analysis, planograms design and in-store merchandising strategies, working in coordination with Associate Merchants, Space Planners, and Supply Chain colleagues.

Research the competitive landscape of the category and understand industry benchmarking standards on pricing, assortment, merchandising, promotional activity and more.

Assist in managing the financial performance (profit and loss) and competitive health (market share performance) for the category.

Evaluate new product and/or platform innovation and work with our control brand team on product innovation and program development for our private labels.

What You\'ll Need:

Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.

A curious and entrepreneurial mentality.

At least one year\xe2\x80\x99s experience as a buyer/merchant, in retail sales, or merchandising.

Problem solving skills with the ability to provide solutions.

Ability to innovate, influence others, and collaborate with many diverse teams.

Experience in project ownership and delivery.

Analytical approach and experience using data to make decisions.

Financial, business and retail knowledge.

Skilled in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Teams and comfortable working with various software platforms

Bilingual in English/French would be an asset. Role can be based out of Provigo Office (Montreal) or Loblaw Head Office (Brampton).

\xc3\x89tablir et atteindre des objectifs pour la cat\xc3\xa9gorie, en collaboration avec divers coll\xc3\xa8gues des diff\xc3\xa9rentes divisions de LCL : la mise en march\xc3\xa9, l\xe2\x80\x99exploitation, les promotions, la cha\xc3\xaene d\xe2\x80\x99approvisionnement, la fid\xc3\xa9lisation, le commerce \xc3\xa9lectronique, le marketing et les m\xc3\xa9dias.

Devenir un expert des lois et r\xc3\xa8glements sur les boissons alcoolis\xc3\xa9es pour votre zone attribu\xc3\xa9e.

\xc3\x89tablir des relations constructives avec les fournisseurs de la cat\xc3\xa9gorie et les partenaires externes.

Soutenir le directeur de cat\xc3\xa9gorie dans l\xe2\x80\x99analyse d\xe2\x80\x99optimisation de l\xe2\x80\x99assortiment, la conception des planogrammes et les strat\xc3\xa9gies de mise en march\xc3\xa9 en magasin, en coordination avec les analystes adjoints de cat\xc3\xa9gorie, les planificateurs d\xe2\x80\x99espace et les coll\xc3\xa8gues de la cha\xc3\xaene d\xe2\x80\x99approvisionnement.

Faire des recherches sur le paysage concurrentiel de la cat\xc3\xa9gorie et comprendre les normes de l\xe2\x80\x99industrie en mati\xc3\xa8re de prix, d\xe2\x80\x99assortiment, de marchandisage, d\xe2\x80\x99activit\xc3\xa9s promotionnelles et plus encore.
