Reporting to the Director of Marketing, Techo-Bloc Inc. is seeking a Merchandising Operations Manager for its St-Hubert head office. This person will be in close communication with the production and marketing departments (architects, sales and purchasing) to anticipate future needs in terms of merchandising items as well as for the creation of all materials that we create internally. You will ensure that deadlines to produce merchandising items are met. Day in the life: You start your day and look at the new email requests while drinking your coffee. You then go on an MRP tour to plan transfers and replenishments for our inventory and sales orders. You decide to visit a production site or warehouse in Saint-Hubert to see what is in production, the organization of the floor and be available for the team. You then head to the weekly meeting with the architects and buyer to learn about new projects and organize the logistics of items to be manufactured. You then take a break to eat with your colleagues. In the afternoon, you will validate specifications and coverage of new items created in the ERP for new products to be manufactured. You will then meet with your team to communicate this information and provide manufacturing objectives and important dates. You validate that the raw materials required for the current productions have been ordered and that the ETAs are reasonable according to the objectives of the different projects. You have a meeting with the marketing supervisors in our other US locations to learn about the progress of the projects/orders and plan the available space. You then investigate the leadtime for customer orders. You end your day with a project kick-off meeting with the marketing team to begin planning the production and distribution of new merchandising tools. In your role, your main responsibilities will be to:
  • Organize, direct and control the production/marketing merchandising teams at different sites
  • Manage a team of approximately 20 people across different sites (3).
  • Maintain effective and collaborative working relationships between teams
  • Organize, plan and validate all production orders with the merchandising team;
  • Explain all deviations from standard production order costs and make improvements;
  • Check production order logs for discrepancies and irregularities;
  • Monitor production deadlines, crew schedules and costs;
  • Manage quantity, cost and inventory movements;
  • Ensures that the department\'s quality standards are improved and maintained;
  • Closely monitor merchandising budgets and take appropriate action;
  • Forecast demand for all marketing and merchandising materials by site;
  • Create merchandising replenishment strategies (using MRP) for our various hubs and sites;
  • Ensure that the items created are properly identified with the correct variant and dimensions;
  • Create bills of materials (BOM) and production material requests.


Qualifications
  • University degree in business administration or logistics;
  • A minimum of 3-5 years experience in a similar role;
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment will be considered a strong asset;
  • Availability to travel a few times a year to the United Sates depending on the project;
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, (English is required in order to service our customers and suppliers based in the United States and outside Quebec);
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Experience with ERP systems, very comfortable with technological tools.
  • Excellent organizational and priority management skills;
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office suite (Excel);
