What are we looking for?



Garbo is seeking an experienced Merchandising Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of retail merchandising execution across our client network. This role will serve as the key liaison between internal teams, third-party vendors, and retail partners, ensuring high-quality, consistent in-store execution that aligns with our brand standards and sales goals.

What will you be doing:



Team & Vendor Coordination

- Lead a national team of merchandisers and coordinate with third-party vendors to ensure consistent service quality and timely issue resolution.

Retail Execution & Support

- Oversee in-store execution, ensuring planogram compliance and seasonal launches, while supporting store teams with merchandising needs and inquiries.

Fixture & Inventory Management -

Maintain accurate fixture and supply inventories, handling requests and coordinating with internal teams to prevent shortages.

Performance & Store Insights

- Analyze store performance data and conduct site visits to optimize service frequency and ensure high execution standards.

Operational Efficiency

- Streamline merchandising operations, improve service quality, and collaborate with internal teams to enhance overall efficiency.

Budget & Financial Oversight -

Manage the merchandising budget, validate invoices, and identify cost-saving opportunities to maximize service value.

What qualifications do you need?



Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, Supply Chain, or a related field A Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required, depending on relevant work experience Equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience in retail merchandising or field team leadership will also be considered

What skills are important that you have?



General Knowledge & Skills



Strong data analysis and reporting abilities and is comfortable working with dashboards and retail systems Proven experience supervising field teams and third-party service providers Excellent organizational and multitasking skills and can manage multiple priorities effectively Solid understanding of store-level retail operations and merchandising workflows Strong time management and follow-through in a fast-paced environment Collaborative mindset with experience working cross-functionally to align goals Ability to troubleshoot and resolve field-level issues as an escalation point Customer-facing experience with retail partners, store operations, or buyers Comfortable interpreting merchandising performance metrics (e.g., sell-through, in-stock %, compliance) to inform operational decisions Clear and professional communication skills across stakeholders and formats

Technical & Industry-Specific Experience



Experience in the packaged goods industry with relevant, transferable knowledge Hands-on retail merchandising execution experience including seasonal launches, resets, and store openings Demonstrated ability to lead large, geographically dispersed merchandising teams across Canada and/or the U.S. Nice to have: Experience in fashion accessories (e.g., jewelry, hair accessories, sunglasses, watches)
