Role Summary
Agrocrop Exports Ltd. is seeking a
Merchandise Handler I
to manage the flow of goods, ensuring efficient and accurate inventory control. This role includes receiving, storing, and distributing merchandise; maintaining an organized and safe work environment; and conducting regular stock checks to support smooth warehouse operations.
What will you be doing?
Review the production schedule to ensure a clear understanding of requirements.
Ensure the correct packaging materials are being used.
Verify the date code and ensure it is correct according to customer specifications.
Check the carton to confirm it is the correct type required by the customer.
Verify the box label to ensure the correct label has been selected by the operator.
Ensure the correct quantity of bags is placed in each box as required by the customer.
Inspect bags to ensure seals (top, bottom, and middle) are intact and that there are no open bags.
Inspect the product to ensure there are no visible signs of foreign material and that product cleanliness is maintained.
Monitor bags running through the check weigher to ensure underweight or overweight bags are being rejected according to the indicator.
Ensure the correct pouches are being used as per the production schedule.
Check bins to confirm the correct bins are used (allergen, non-allergen, or organic).
During product changeovers, ensure bins are properly cleaned and prepared for the next product to prevent cross-contamination.
Maintain a clean and well-organized work center in compliance with BRC requirements.
Perform any other duties as required.
Ensure all garbage and cardboard bins are emptied at the end of the shift.
Qualifications
1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Food industry experience is an asset.
High School Diploma or GED
