Job Description


Responsibilities

Development and execution of a robust competitive assortment on an ongoing basis to be presented to Senior Management.

Collaboration with other Buyers in the creation of products from Existing categories and vendors

Collaboration with Buyers and Vendors in the On- Line Publishing of items

Ongoing market intelligence and competitive review. This position is responsible to understand the Canadian market relative to the On-Line product portfolios, understand style trends, identify new vendor sources and product categories, and always ensure competitive assortment.

Provide analytics reporting, insights, and future recommendations to the business.

Category sales and margin reporting

Insights on sales conversions (what\xe2\x80\x99s selling and why?)

Possible future technology requirements for the online programs.

Future shipping and delivery efficiencies and planning

Ongoing Research and understanding of online competitors and where possible their best practices

Site merchandising \xe2\x80\x93 Determine and set up what items should show up first on the pages

Daily Monitoring and Review of orders

Review sales and margin \xe2\x80\x93 Provide feedback on shipping and retail costs based on results.

Review and troubleshoot any orders that may be delayed

Finalize orders daily (until automated)

Field any Buyer, Vendor and Store operations questions (dropship@thebrick.com)

Process collaboration and development with all involved areas of the Company including Digital Marketing, Accounting, Operations etc.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education an asset

Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills

Highly developed time management and organizational skills

Ability to travel as required

Developed and intuitive Fashion acumen

Education & Experience Required

Must be articulate, assertive; possess solid communication skills (verbal and written)

Retail management experience and/or product merchandising experience will be taken into consideration, ideally with retail floor experience and inventory management understanding.

Must be able to build working relationships with vendors and colleagues

Ability to initiate, develop and deliver plans and strategies successfully

Confident and robust negotiation skills

Developed analytical abilities

Computer competence in spreadsheet and word programs

Developed knowledge and competence in retail systems
