As a MEP Operations Lead working in the Building and Operations team at Pomerleau Construction, you manage several activities and deadlines to gain a clearer picture of client, team and project needs. Working on large-scale building and infrastructure projects - ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion - you will make a significant impact on our projects by developing a talented team and staying closely engaged with individual projects.
What you will do:



Overall success of the MEP execution on the assigned projects. Provide MEP expertise for the assigned projects. Act as an electromechanical reference on projects of great complexity or scope (design, construction, commissioning) Execute the role of MEP Operations Lead by.

a. Act proactively to predict and mitigate risks.

b. Validate constructability (costs) and build estimate (procurement).

i. This includes supporting the project team for all MEP items.

c. Optimize the proposed electromechanical concepts while complying with contractual obligations, including information related with procurement

d. Managing the MEP Scopes and Trade Partners.

e. Manage relationships to ensure trust and long-term relationships.

f. Support, guide, and manage junior MEP Ops team memebers, . (this includes weekly 1-2-1s).

g. Provide leadership to ensure that commissioning requirements and deliverables are met.

h. Support the project team in the preparation and validation of construction schedules and commissioning, with technical reviews of specialty shop drawings and with procurement (costs).

i. Ensure proper coordination of work and deliverables between professionals and specialized partners.

Actively engage (as required by the Operations Manager) in the remaining design development phase to ensure that the project objectives are met. Actively engage in the project schedule development to ensure that a viable achievable schedule is created. Being on the site to assist with the management of the day to day MEP operations and supporting of the site staff. Approve Quality and Commissioning plans from our MEP trade partners. Drive the Commissioning Process, including the management of the third party Cx agent. Participate in meetings as required.


This role could be for you if you have:



5-10 years of mechanical and electrical experience in the construction industry.


A University Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a combination of education and industry experience.


A proven track record of mechanical and electrical coordination and team collaboration. Benefits
