As part of our mission, we are seeking a dedicated Mentorship Facilitator to join our team.
Job Summary
The Climbing Tree Mentorship Program (CTMP) is the first of its kind whereby volunteer mentors from the community are paired with youths between the ages of 13 and 17 who have received support from the CACAC. We are hiring for a
part-time Mentorship Facilitator
who will work closely with the Mentorship Coordinator in being responsible for the continued development and implementation of the CTMP. This role will play a key part in the prevention aspect of child abuse by supporting victims and helping to break the cycle of abuse.
Key Responsibilities
:
Vetting and onboarding of mentor applicants:
Communicating with mentor applicants so ensure the successful onboarding of suitable candidates to CTMP
Interviewing mentor applicants and meeting with them one-on-one to gauge qualifications of volunteer mentors
Serving as the primary point of contact for families, caregivers and mentees
Conducting intake meetings with mentees, parents and caregivers
Sharing application information with relevant stakeholders as needed
Maintaining regular communication to assess ongoing needs and support
Support Mentorship Coordinator with youth conferences:
Assist in the planning and implementation of both The Climb Girls' Resiliency Conference and The Ascent Boys' Resiliency Conferenceannually in May and November respectively
Communicate with various schools regarding conference details
Presence at regular committee meetings
Attend both conferences and see to the successful completion of both events
Administrative support:
Maintain contact list databases
Managing and processing applications from participants
Communicate via phone, email and text with CTMP clients
Meet regularly with the Mentorship Coordinator for guidance, accountability, and ongoing support
Qualifications:
As the CTMP is part of the Education Programming Team at the CACAC, a degree or diploma in Education or a related field is required
5+ years of work experience in an education setting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong computing skills with knowledge of common Microsoft and Google platforms
Passion for the CACAC's mission and commitment to child welfare
Skills and Abilities:
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Creative and strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
