Key Responsibilities
:
Reporting to the Program Manager, the
Mentoring Coordinator
is responsible for the full range of case management duties across our Community-Based, In-School, and Group Mentoring programs. Key responsibilities include:
Case Management:
Recruit, screen, train, match, and supervise volunteers and mentees.
Database & Record Management:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and volunteer files. Complete all administrative requirements associated with caseload management.
Community Development & Outreach:
Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, community partners, and referral agencies. Actively support volunteer recruitment and community engagement initiatives.
Program Operations:
Assist with and attend agency-sponsored events and activities to ensure strong participant engagement.
Compliance:
Follow BBBS National Standards and best practices in all casework duties.
Qualifications & Expectations:
Diploma in a social services or humanities-related field (required); a degree is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years' experience working with youth in a social service or non-profit setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Commitment to BBBSFV's Mission, Vision, and Diversity & Inclusion values.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
Ability to work independently while following organizational procedures.
Respectful, tactful communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft 365.
Experience using client record management systems (e.g., CRM or similar platforms).
Requirements
Valid and acceptable driver's abstract for a Class 5 Driver's License.
Access to a reliable vehicle (this position includes supporting mentoring programs in the City of Mission).
Clear Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search).
Emergency First Aid certification is an asset.
Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
