About the Role
Reporting to the Morden Community Mobilization Coordinator, the Mental Health Worker will provide trauma-informed, client-centered care. You'll support individuals facing mental health challenges by offering therapeutic interventions, psychosocial assessments, and crisis response, while collaborating with local service providers to ensure wraparound, coordinated care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide mental health support to youth, families, and individuals with complex needs
Complete psychosocial assessments, mental health evaluations, and develop individualized care plans
Assist with crisis care planning and support under The Mental Health Act and The Personal Health Information Act
Collaborate closely with social workers, health professionals, and justice agencies
Educate clients and families about mental health, treatment options, and available community resources
Support program development, student mentorship, and mental health promotion
Maintain documentation in accordance with privacy legislation and professional ethics
What You Bring
Degree in Health-Related Social Sciences (e.g., BSW, BN, RPN, OT, BScMH); equivalent experience considered
Active registration and licensing through a relevant professional college
Certification in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST)
Recommended 2 years' experience in a related role
Experience with psychosocial assessments, crisis support, and working with vulnerable populations
Knowledge of local community resources and trauma-informed approaches
Conditions of Employment
Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector), Child Abuse Registry, and Adult Abuse Registry
Valid Class 5 Driver's License and current vehicle registration with $1M liability insurance
Occasional evening or weekend work and travel to partner locations
Proficiency with MS Office and other digital tools
Multilingual abilities are an asset
