Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Area Manager and the Clinical Supervisor, this Mental Health Therapist position is part of our Indigenous Travel Team. This position\xe2\x80\x99s home office is located in Cold Lake with daily travel to satellite offices to support the two local Metis Settlements. The Mental Health therapist role is responsible for providing intake, mental health assessment, diagnostic and treatment planning, and therapeutic intervention for adults and youth struggling with acute and chronic mental illness. Additional responsibilities also include working in partnership and maintaining strong working relationships with our surrounding Metis communities, as well as, providing support to students and new staff orientation. As an active and supportive team member, you have excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently. You are a self-directed, highly motivated individual with exceptional leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills that is able to manage change and deal with a fast-paced environment. This position requires the ability to be an excellent team player on our multidisciplinary Travel Team which also consists of a nurse and an addictions counsellor. With a population of 15 000, Cold Lake is well known in the \xe2\x80\x9cLakeland\xe2\x80\x9d area for its abundance of outdoor activities and recreation. Description:

As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications: Completion of masters degree in Psychology; or masters degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or masters or bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or masters degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college Additional Required Qualifications: Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Social Work, Registered Nurse or Registered psychiatric nurse will be considered. Preferred Qualifications: As required.
