Mental Health Therapist Provincial

Fort Saskatchewan, AB, Canada

Job Description

Your Opportunity:

This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced mental health professional to join the Adult Addiction and Mental Health team at the Fort Saskatchewan Addiction & Mental Health Clinic within the Adult Community Services portfolio. Working as a member of an interdisciplinary team and reporting to the Care Manager of the East Suburban clinics, the Mental Health Therapist Provincial (MHT) is primarily responsible for direct clinical service in the area(s) of screening, assessment, and treatment of individuals with complex mental health needs and/or concurrent disorders. Treatment is provided through the use of group and individual psychotherapy. Utilizing evidence-based practice, the MHT will provide community-based assessment, service planning, crisis management, and psychotherapy support to adults experiencing addiction and mental health concerns. These individuals typically have complex needs and often multiple diagnoses, including mental health and co-occurring addiction and mental health issues. This includes clients who have poorly controlled conditions but are sufficiently stable to be working toward symptom control and effective, goal-directed self-management plans. Group facilitation skills and concurrent capability are requirements for this position. This position provides community outreach. The MHT works collaboratively with the client and other health and social service providers in treatment planning and transitioning of the client\'s care. The MHT, in collaboration with the team, ensures that clinical services are delivered safely, are of high quality, and align with the Addiction & Mental Health Principles of Care for clients, families, and community partners.
