Your Opportunity:
Henwood Treatment Centre is recruiting for an experienced and skilled addiction and Mental Health Therapist to join our team. This position will function in the context of a multi-disciplinary team that provides quality, client focused, recovery based, concurrent capable, culturally appropriate care to those seeking assistance/services within Addictions and Mental Health. The Mental Health Therapist will provide a range of services including comprehensive addiction and mental health assessment, care planning, treatment, case management, crisis intervention and group facilitation on site to adults experiencing concurrent mental health and addiction concerns disorders. The successful candidate will be able to provide professional, nonjudgmental evidence-based treatment to individuals seeking treatment at Henwood. The Mental Health Therapist will enhance mental health capacity on the interdisciplinary team at HTC. Effective collaboration with families, other care providers, and a range of stakeholders is required. Recovery oriented care principles and trauma informed care are utilized in service provision for all clients. A strong understanding of the application of harm reduction principles is required. Please Note: Henwood is located in North East Edmonton and public transportation to the facility is limited. Physical requirements of the position include the ability to sit/stand and walk through a large centre as well as use stairs, there is no elevator access. It is also a requirement that the incumbent be physically able to respond to behavioral/clinical emergency situations that may occur anywhere in the building. Description:
As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must be registered with an appropriate health professions regulating body. Registered Social Workers must be registered to perform restricted activities. Registered Psychologists must have completed their provisional registration requirements. A minimum of five years of prior clinical work with individuals with mental health and addiction concerns. Additional experience working with individuals with concurrent disorders is required. Computer proficiency is essential as the position requires use of an electronic medical record. It is also a requirement that the incumbent be physically able to respond to behavioral/clinical emergency situations that may occur anywhere in the building.

Preferred Qualifications:

Designation as a Clinical Social Worker is preferred. Experience working in a Residential Treatment Centre is an asset. Additional formal training in CBT, DBT, group psychotherapy, family therapy and/or other endorsed forms of current evidence-based therapy is desirable.
