Henwood Treatment Centre is recruiting for an experienced and skilled addiction and Mental Health Therapist to join our team. This position will function in the context of a multi-disciplinary team that provides quality, client focused, recovery based, concurrent capable, culturally appropriate care to those seeking assistance/services within Addictions and Mental Health. The Mental Health Therapist will provide a range of services including comprehensive addiction and mental health assessment, care planning, treatment, case management, crisis intervention and group facilitation on site to adults experiencing concurrent mental health and addiction concerns disorders. The successful candidate will be able to provide professional, nonjudgmental evidence-based treatment to individuals seeking treatment at Henwood. The Mental Health Therapist will enhance mental health capacity on the interdisciplinary team at HTC. Effective collaboration with families, other care providers, and a range of stakeholders is required. Recovery oriented care principles and trauma informed care are utilized in service provision for all clients. A strong understanding of the application of harm reduction principles is required. Please Note: Henwood is located in North East Edmonton and public transportation to the facility is limited. Physical requirements of the position include the ability to sit/stand and walk through a large centre as well as use stairs, there is no elevator access. It is also a requirement that the incumbent be physically able to respond to behavioral/clinical emergency situations that may occur anywhere in the building. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.
