The Community Addiction Team with Recovery Alberta in stunning Fort McMurray is seeking a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Therapist to join the team. This role focuses on providing therapeutic support to individuals and families affected by addiction and mental health challenges, with a particular emphasis on children and youth. The successful candidate will deliver direct therapeutic interventions, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create individualized care plans, and actively participate in case consultations, team meetings, and community outreach initiatives. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team, and be flexible to work rotating weekly shifts, including days and evenings, with Saturdays and Sundays off. Located in beautiful Fort McMurray which resides on Treaty 8 territory, and on the traditional lands of the Metis. It is Canada's boreal forest with lakes and rivers nearby, along with four provincial parks in the area, it offers a stunning landscape and a great view of the Northern Lights. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, Recovery Alberta currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
Description:
As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.
