Yellowhead Community Services Society is an integrated health/social service agency with offices located in the beautiful North Thompson Valley serving the Clearwater and Barriere areas. We also have office locations in Ashcroft and Lillooet. Our agency is a grassroots organization that strives to bring excellent professional social/health services to our communities.

Yellowhead Community Services Society is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our counselling team on a temporary basis. The position is a full-time 1-year term position (35hrs/week), with potential for extension. Please contact further to discuss.

Position Summary:

Providing services primarily to adult and senior populations. Conducting intake, assessments, interventions, collaborative treatment planning, and case management. Responsibilities will include carrying a caseload and delivering services to those with a diagnosis of mood, personality, and concurrent disorders (medical conditions, trauma, substance use, and other disorders). The position will require competencies in clinical counselling and collaboration with physicians, psychiatrists, and the local First Nation Band service team. The position includes providing services to youth with substance use issues.

Qualifications:

Master's Degree from an accredited educational institution in a Health, Behavioral, or Social Science field relevant to the position. Two (2) years of recent clinical experience related to mental health and substance use treatment is preferred but not required. Current valid Class 5 BC Driver's License & satisfactory Criminal Record Check.

Those with lesser qualifications (Bachelor's degree) may be considered for an alternate position within the agency.

Relocation expenses may be available.

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $42.57-$48.12 per hour
