Position Summary

The Mental Health RN working within the BGH ED will work collaboratively to care for patients presenting with mental health concerns. They will also act as a strong resource for other members of the BGH ED team.

Required

  • Current Certificate of Registration in good standing, or eligible for registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • A Current CPR certificate
  • Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload (Physical Demands Analysis available to review).
  • Current knowledge and skills in Psychiatric / Mental Health Nursing / Mental Health Act.
  • Recent related experience in Psychiatric / Mental Health Nursing, min 2 years
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention
Duties
  • \xe2\x80\xa2 Utilizes the Nursing Process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care,
  • Performs acts requiring specialized knowledge, skills and judgment in assessing psychiatric/mental health needs and in planning, administering and evaluating patient care,
  • Responsible for supervision of other members of the health care team who contribute to the provision of patient care,
  • Maintains nursing records,
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement programs to ensure a high level of patient care, and
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Adapts and adheres to the values of Quinte Health while promoting and advocating for an enhanced patient experience; and
  • Other duties as assigned.
