Why is this is an exciting opportunity?

There is a clear and growing need for mental health support within the Trent University and broader Peterborough community, and we have long envisioned adding a mental health provider to our multidisciplinary team. This role presents a unique opportunity to build and shape a mental health practice within an established, collaborative clinic where demand already exists.

What makes Trent Health in Motion a great place to work?

We are a physio-owned small family business.

We understand the perspective of clinicians and we work hard to make this an enjoyable, sustainable and supportive workplace. You can learn more about us on our YouTube page.

We believe in lifelong learning, for ourselves and for our team.

We do this through mentorship, continuing education, student placements, inservices, goal setting, reflective practice, giving and receiving feedback, and multidisciplinary collaboration & discussions.

We are committed to making a positive impact on our community.

In addition to helping people through one-on-one appointments, a few initiatives we have taken recently include:

Our new Moms in Motion program. A perinatal exercise program led by our personal trainer, which included an education session with presentations by our pelvic physiotherapist and sports medicine physician, and pelvic physio assessments for program participants. All free of charge to participants thanks to grant funding we received through a partnership with the Peterborough Child and Family Centres. We have developed and run our Seniors in Motion Program, which has significantly improved the health related quality of life of many groups of seniors in our community, including Curve Lake First Nation, which we have offered free of charge to 200+ participants (through securing government funding). We are proud members of Green Economy Peterborough, a network of environmentally-minded businesses, to identify, set, and achieve sustainability goals. We have been recognized for our leadership in sustainability and for promoting active transportation in our community through participation in the Shifting Gears Challenge, piloting a bike-friendly workplace audit, sponsoring and participating in Peterborough's 2024 Cycling Summit and for co-presenting a workshop on Creating a Bike-Friendly Workplace.

Location, location, location!

We are in Peterborough's growing North end. We are on the beautiful Trent University campus, with lots of natural light, views of the Otonabee River, walking trails, and all the vibrancy and opportunity of a university campus. Located in the middle of Trent's Athletics Centre, we get access to the works - weight room, cardio loft, therapy pool, climbing wall, rowing tank, sports gym, track and field - anything you could want to help your clients achieve their goals!

We care about the wellbeing of people who work with us.

We're offering a full-time employee package, with competitive compensation, access to benefits, paid sick days, paid vacation, and access to our community B!KE shop membership for those who enjoy cycling and want to reduce their environmental footprint through active transit. We offer flexible hours to support work-life balance, and we have lots of fun at our social events.

We bring in lots of assessments,

and we get to work with a wide variety of mostly active clientele,

including elite and recreational athletes, students, seniors, and perinatal populations.

We believe healthcare works best when professionals from different disciplines work together.

This is why we have built a multidisciplinary team, so that we can learn from each other and collaborate for a more seamless experience for clients. Our clinical team currently includes a sports medicine physician, physiotherapists, pelvic physiotherapist, chiropractors, massage therapists, dietitian and a personal trainer. We also have a stellar front desk and admin team, to support our clinicians and clients.

We have brought together the most amazing people to make up our team!

What we're looking for in an applicant:

Registration in good standing with a provincial licensing body such as the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario or the College of Psychologists of Ontario Knowledge of a variety of therapeutic modalities Willingness to assist with establishing a mental health service model A great communicator who is eager to be a part of a multidisciplinary team Someone with compassion and a passion for helping people Someone who values lifelong learning and growth

If this sounds like you, don't miss this incredible opportunity!
