The
Mental Health Intake Therapist
(.6 FTE) will:
Engage patients in phone conversations to assess mental health concerns
Participate in a Single Session Clinic utilizing a brief therapy approach
Refer patients to appropriate community and regional resources
Arrange case conferences, as needed, to ensure a streamlined referral process
Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, and other allied health team members, as well as community providers
Demonstrate sensitivity to diversity, whether related to race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Required
Master's degree in social work or psychology with 2+ years' experience or a BSW with 5 years' experience
Membership in good standing with regulated health college, i.e. OCSWSSW or CRPO
Current up-to-date local knowledge of Dufferin-Caledon community and health services
Demonstrated expertise in utilizing evidence-based therapy approaches
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in risk assessment, crisis intervention, and referral coordination
Criminal Records Check/Vulnerable Sector Screening
