Job Description

Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows Community Services is currently looking for a temporary full-time Mental Health Facilitator within our Mental Health Services - The Clubhouse program. In this position, the Mental Health Facilitator will have the opportunity to plan, prepare and facilitate various programs within the Club setting that empowers members and promotes autonomy in their recovery journey. This includes but is not limited to developing programs that promote vocational/life skills and social/leisure activities.

The Clubhouse program is a voluntary referral-based program for adults 18+ living with a mental health issue in Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows. The clubhouse operates under a psychosocial rehabilitation model that supports members to learn and adopt healthy coping strategies, connect with their peers and increase involvement in their community through resource building.

The club is a safe and non-judgemental space for individuals to navigate their mental health challenges and discover wellness tools on their journey to recovery and mental wellness. The club creates opportunities for people to develop skills, build confidence and improve quality of life in areas of personal life, pre-employment, employment, education and leisure.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training and Experience

2-year diploma in a mental health discipline. Minimum 2 years experience working with persons who have chronic and persistent mental health issues. Experience in group facilitation: recreation, life skills, vocational. A strong understanding of psychosocial rehabilitation and a certificate would be an asset.

Additional Requirements:

Clear Criminal Record Check is required. Current First Aid and CPR Certificate. Valid and unrestricted Class 5 BC Driver's License with access to a safe and reliable vehicle. Acceptable Driver's Abstract (provided annually). Position requires Union Membership.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIE

SProven ability to organize and prioritize multiple demands. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to work as part of a team and practice the Team Approach. Demonstrated knowledge of client outcome measurement, client information management, and client file management. Proficient with current office technology, familiarity with case management programs and documentation models such as SOAP Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the socio-economic and cultural background of the service population. Must be able to efficiently and effectively manage work time, energy and stress levels while maintaining healthy client boundaries

Shift/Schedule/Hours per week:

35 hours per week; generally, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, with occasional evening shifts as required throughout the month, (12:00-7:00) This is a temporary full-time position effective until the incumbent.

$27.54/hour
