Duties & Responsibilities

Circle of Care

Provide individual, group, and family counselling for children and youth

Program

Support planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of child and youth mental health initiatives Incorporate Indigenous cultural teachings, Elders, and traditional healers in program delivery where appropriate Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and program evaluations Assist in coordinating services with other units and community partners

Administration

Maintain accurate and timely client records and case notes Compile program data for reporting and evaluation purposes Provide administrative support to the Unit Supervisor as needed Deliver crisis intervention and short-term counselling as needed Develop and monitor wellness plans in collaboration with clients, families, and care providers Conduct outreach and follow-up with children, youth, and families to ensure continuity of care Liaise with schools, hospitals, and community agencies to support clients' needs Ensure services are provided in compliance with confidentiality policies and relevant legislation (e.g., PHIPA, CYFSA)
Qualifications & Experience:

BSW/MSW, Counselling Psychology, or equivalent training and experience in child and youth mental health An understanding of the social determinants of health and other issues relevant to indigenous communities in Toronto; respect for Traditional healing Registration with a recognized professional college (e.g., OCSWSSW, CRPO) Demonstrated experience working with children, youth, and families in mental health settings Knowledge of culturally safe, trauma-informed, and client-centered interventions Strong interpersonal, advocacy, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills Experience working with Indigenous children, youth, and families, and knowledge of Indigenous determinants of health

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.87-$43.64 per hour

Work Location: In person
