The Geriatric Mental Health (GMH) teams are multidisciplinary groups supporting older adults with addiction and mental health concerns. Our team includes mental health clinicians from a variety of clinical backgrounds, psychologists, outreach workers, occupational therapist and psychiatrists who specialize in geriatric mental health and addictions. We provide psychology and psychiatric assessments; non-pharmacological recommendations, community engagement; goal directed individual therapy and group-based therapy options for clients. The Intake Coordinator supports the different teams and GMH clients through: Screening referrals for risk and appropriateness. Engaging clients in connecting with the program. Completing program intake requirements. Scheduling initial intake assessments. Delivering information sessions. Tracking data to identify trends. Covering vacation for the partner Intake Coordinator role. May include co-facilitating groups. The successful candidate skills and attributes include: Experience in an intake role. Strong foundation in community mental health. Knowledge of mental health system and resources within AHS, RA and Calgary. Experience working in a multidisciplinary team. Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively. Flexibility in scheduling and adaptability to changes in role and processes. Strong verbal and written communication skills. As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team collaborating on the delivery of care for the needs of individuals, families and/or communities. You will be responsible for the intake, clinical interviews and screening of clients with addiction and mental health disorders. You will liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with other team members as required. You may have the opportunity to participate in program planning, development and to provide supervision to practicum students. This position is open to Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, and Occupational Therapists.
