JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



Be part of an exciting new initiative at SOAR! This part-time position offers flexible hours as you support individuals experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns that impact their ability to attain and maintain employment. You leverage structured assessment, individualized support plans, and therapeutic interventions to help people achieve their goals. You will make a difference!

In this role you will:

Use evidence-based assessment tools to identify needs

Develop and implement strength-based support and transition plans

Provide short-term individual counselling, up to 6 sessions, using cognitive behavioural, motivational interviewing, and other evidence-informed modalities

Collaborate with our employment team and other partners to ensure a coordinated approach to service

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational policies

Hours of work

: Ideal is 22.5 hours per week with flexibility in days/times within SOAR's open hours.

*This is an ideal opportunity for someone in private practice, who wants to balance guaranteed income along with flexibility.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS



Hourly wage: Starts at $27.07, progressing to $29.71 per hour

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS



College diploma in the Human or Social Services field, with a University Degree in a related Social Sciences preferred

Current registration with a professional governing body such as College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario or Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers

Minimum of 2 years' combined education/experience in substance use, concurrent disorders and/or mental health clinical settings

Proficient in MS Office and be familiar with databases

Able to manage frequent exposure to vicarious traumatic stress

Access to reliable transportation, as some travel may be required

Please also note that the successful candidate will be required to provide a police vulnerable sector check as a condition of employment, however strong consideration is made to the type of offense
