Qualifications

• Diploma in the Social Sciences field, current knowledge related to HIV/AIDS, or equivalent education and/or experience
• Exceptional knowledge related to HIV/AIDS and HCV, understands the complexities of working with diverse populations and has a thorough appreciation and awareness of Indigenous history and culture
• Ability to work from a risk/harm reduction perspective
• Ability to create healthy rapport with members
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, written & verbal communication skills
• Personal characteristics that will contribute to a healthy and dynamic team
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and access to a vehicle required

Responsibilities The successful candidate will work within a client-centered, risk/harm reduction environment to:

• Support members, people living with HIV/AIDS/HCV, in meeting their needs by developing and maintaining individual case plans and support structures, utilizing existing member database.
• Assess needs for support structures for those affected by HIV/AIDS/HCV and develop and implement plans to meet identified needs.
• Provide crisis intervention, support, informal counseling, grief and loss support, and referrals for services to people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS/HCV as required.
• Disperse resources to members as available and requested.
• Organize and facilitate existing \xe2\x80\x9cPositive Talk\xe2\x80\x9d weekly support group.
• Incorporate meaningful interaction with members in your daily duties.
• Ensure effective data gathering for statistical reporting requirements.
• Build new and maintain existing partnerships with service agencies and other community professionals in order to reduce stigmatization and ensure equitable service.
• Additional duties as required.

Part-time hours: 30 per week Salary: $19.00-$21.50 per hour Benefits:

Education:

• Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:
