A high voltage foreman manages and leads a crew of electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of high-voltage electrical systems, such as substations, switchgear, and transformers. Key duties include ensuring adherence to electrical codes and safety standards, interpreting blueprints and schematics, performing troubleshooting, managing project materials, and mentoring journeyman and apprentice electricians to foster skill development and quality workmanship.
Certification as a Powerline Technician Journeyperson, including successful completion of MEARIE or IHSA Powerline Technician Training Program (434A Red Seal Powerline Technician) or equivalent
Experience operating bucket trucks, radial boom derricks, hydraulic equipment and all other tools used in line maintenance and construction
Be familiar with and carrying out live line work practices and techniques on the systems including stick work, and rubber glove techniques
Must have a valid DZ or AZ drivers license.
Must have valid training in the following: Working at Heights, Pole Top and Bucket Rescue, Bucket Evacuation, Pole Climbing, First Aid & CPR, AED
