Job Summary The Medical Writer participates as a member of the Product Development Team (PDT) and Clinical Research Project Team (CRPT) and serves as functional area representative team in matters pertaining to scientific and medical writing. The Medical Writer will prepare, edit and review internal scientific and clinical documents such as protocols, Investigator\xe2\x80\x99s brochures, study reports, dossiers, information packages and modules submitted to regulatory authorities. The Medical Writer will also assist in the preparation and publishing of manuscripts, abstracts, posters and review articles, in addition to, public relations work such as web site copy, news articles, corporate presentations and publications. The Medical writer will be responsible for creating original content in addition to facilitating and organizing content from technical-area experts. The Medical Writer will also be expected to review and edit documents for organization, clarity, use of English language/grammar, and scientific standards; ensure quality, resolve errors and inconsistencies in data along with the Project Manager, Team Leader and other PDT/CRPT members, as necessary. The candidate will be an experienced Medical Writer in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry with a proven track record of successful publication. Core Responsibilities:
  • Plan content, format and timing of document finalization by managing all necessary steps in a project, planning ahead and identifying critical paths;
  • support Project Managers, PDT/CRPT team members and department heads to ensure that project needs are effectively met;
  • support and contribute to the implementation of the company\xe2\x80\x99s publication strategy;
  • interact with physicians, statisticians, regulatory personnel and facilitating effective interactions and information exchange/communication among co-authors and reviewers as appropriate;
  • attending meetings and teleconferences with reviewers to understand and resolve comments and issues;
  • assembling periodic status reports and presentations for management.
Qualifications:
  • extensive scientific/clinical writing skills;
  • fluent in written and spoken English, with appropriate attention to detail, accuracy, quality phraseology, grammar and punctuation;
  • organized, detail-oriented and have the ability to successfully manage multiple projects from conception to completion;
  • self-starter and must function well under minimal supervision;
  • demonstrated knowledge and understanding of clinical research and therapeutic development process and industry guidelines/regulations (e.g. ICH, GCP)
  • advanced word processing kills including MS Office (expertise in word, Excel and PowerPoint), software and systems knowledge or ability to learn or adapt to various IT systems, document management systems (Acrobat), collaborative authoring (SharePoint) and file conversion and databases (Excel).
Education:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Life Sciences/Health Related Sciences or equivalent.
