The Role

We are looking for a Medical Writer to join our growing boutique medical communications agency.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of a Medical Writer include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting project teams in providing strategic recommendations in developing agendas for various types of meetings and events, including advisory boards, symposia, training meetings, investigator meetings, and results meetings
  • Support development of content including slides for PowerPoint presentations, workshop materials, and elements of interactivity (virtual and live events)
  • Developing reports that synthesize feedback and discussions of facilitated workshops and meetings
  • Researching and summarizing scientific literature (e.g., literature reviews)
  • Writing content for posters and abstracts
  • Supporting senior team members in medical writing activities related to the development and submission of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals
  • Participate in regular project status calls for clients and other key stakeholders, such as HCPs, and partner vendors.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Medical Writer are:
  • MSc, or other advanced degree (e.g., PhD, MD, PharmD)
  • 1 year or less (depending on experience and qualifications) of medical writing experience in a medical communications agency setting OR
  • 2+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industries
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries
  • Ability to critically analyze and synthesize complex scientific information
  • Exceptional writing skills to convey messages and develop effective scientific and medical narratives
  • Strong editing and proofing skills
  • Ability to effectively work on multiple projects at the same time and to appropriately prioritize work
  • Proficiency in MS Office with excellence in PowerPoint
  • Good decision-making and interpersonal skills.
