Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Remote Medical Transcriptionist to join our healthcare documentation team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing medical reports, clinical notes, diagnostic test results, and other healthcare-related documentation from audio recordings dictated by healthcare providers.

Working remotely, you must possess strong listening, typing, and grammar skills, along with a thorough understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare documentation standards.

Essential Functions:

Answers phones professionally and timely, routing inquiries to appropriate staff if needed.
Collects, collates, and catalogs consultation and reference lab reports as received, integrating them into the pertinent Pathology case.
Distribute Proficiency materials received to appropriate sections while maintaining tracking records.
Maintains records of slides & materials referred and returned to ensure continuity of material and information.
Performs all other duties as assigned or directed within scope of department needs and capabilities.

Transcribe audio recordings into written medical documents with a high degree of accuracy.

Review and edit transcriptions for grammar, spelling, and medical terminology. Maintain confidentiality and security of all patient records. Meet established deadlines while managing multiple tasks independently. Communicate effectively with medical professionals when clarification is needed.

Job Requirements

Proficient in medical transcription software and equipment. Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation standards. Excellent typing skills and attention to detail. Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

Prior experience in medical transcription is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High school diploma or equivalent (additional training in medical transcription is a plus).

Pay: $26.44-$37.23 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
