Welcome to North York Eye Clinic. Our Eye Clinic proudly serves the North York area with a focus on superior quality service and friendly staff. The doctors and office staff take great pride in offering every patient the absolute best in vision care. Our services range from complete ocular health examinations and prescription examinations to emergency/red eye examinations. Our knowledgeable doctors have experience with diagnosing and managing or treating eye infections, eye injuries, cataracts, corneal abrasions, styes, glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
A student optician/ optometric receptionist position is available at the North York Eye Clinic. Responsibilities will include answering the phone, booking patients, ordering contact lenses and pre-testing patients before being seen by the doctor. The ideal candidate is friendly, professional, well-mannered, comfortable on the phone, has excellent computer skills, and is a quick learner. This is a "paperless" practice so the candidate must be very comfortable on the computer.
Training will be provided.
The successful candidate must be able to work: weekday (1-2) full days and alternating weekends. (Possibly 1 day)
Hours: 20-30 per week
Potential for more days in the future.
Hourly Wage: $17.50-18.00/ hour

Duties/Responsibilities:
Answering phone calls, scheduling appointments and overseeing scheduling
Assist in proper patient flow, checking in patients, checking out patients and process insurance claims and OHIP billing
Pretesting patients-Visual Field, or retinal imaging
Teaching patients about contact lens wear including insertion and removal training
Assisting patients with frame selection, and lens selection
Maintaining a clean and tidy office
Cleaning and disinfecting clinic/optical frames

Experience:
Optical: 1 year (preferred)
Prior customer service experience, and/or experience in the Health industry will be an asset
Salary commensurate with experience and skills level.
