Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant/receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support in a medical office setting, ensuring efficient operations and excellent patient care. This role requires familiarity with medical terminology and proficiency in managing electronic medical records. The Medical Office Assistant will play a crucial role in enhancing the overall patient experience while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.

Duties



Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming environment. Manage phone systems to handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and address patient inquiries. Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) using systems such as Epic or Dentrix. Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes, including verifying insurance information. Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies. Support healthcare providers by preparing examination rooms and assisting during patient procedures as needed. Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information. Collaborate with other staff members to improve office efficiency and patient satisfaction.

Clinical Support Duties office assistant

Prepare examination rooms and sterilize equipment. Assist physicians with basic procedures (e.g., taking vital signs). Record patient medical histories and update EHRs. Coordinate lab tests, prescriptions, and referrals. Follow infection control and safety protocols.

Requirements



High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical office administration is a plus. Proficiency in medical terminology and familiarity with electronic medical records systems. Previous experience in a medical office or dental office setting is preferred. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients and healthcare professionals. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. Experience using phone systems for managing calls efficiently.
