We are seeking a professional and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional front desk support and ensuring smooth administrative operations within our medical or dental office. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with electronic medical records, and experience with office management systems. The Medical Receptionist will be responsible for managing patient appointments, handling multi-line phone systems, and supporting clinical staff to deliver high-quality patient care.
Duties
Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using electronic medical records systems such as OSCAR
Manage multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries, transfer calls, and take messages
Verify patient OHIP insurance information and update records accurately
Maintain organized patient files and ensure confidentiality of medical information
Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, including updating demographic data
Support clinical staff with administrative tasks as needed
Ensure the reception area remains clean, welcoming, and well-organized
Handle correspondence and perform general office duties to support daily operations
Experience
Prior experience in a medical office setting is highly preferred but willing to train
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Epic or Dentrix is required
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and administrative procedures in healthcare environments
Office experience involving front desk operations and multi-line phone systems is essential
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are necessary for success in this role
