We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. Your responsibilities will include managing patient appointments, verifying insurance information, handling medical records, and providing exceptional administrative support. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a thorough understanding of medical terminology and billing procedures.
Duties
Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service at the front desk
Schedule patient appointments accurately using clinic management software such as Practice Perfect.
Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid, ensuring all documentation is complete and up-to-date
Collect co-payments and outstanding balances through efficient medical collections processes
Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures with professionalism and attention to detail
Review documentation for completeness and accuracy before submission or filing.
Handle incoming calls using multi-line phone systems with courteous phone etiquette
Facilitate communication between patients, providers, and insurance companies to resolve billing or scheduling issues
Support office management tasks such as filing, faxing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
Experience
Prior experience working in a medical office preferred.
Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Record) .
Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a busy clinical environment
Excellent communication skills.
Competency in computer skills .
