Your Opportunity:

This Medical Radiation Technologist II (MRT) position is responsible for leading, organizing and directing the day-to-day operations of the Cardston Health Centre General Radiography department including scheduling, staff development, quality assurance programs, patient satisfaction and equipment. The successful candidate will provide leadership and vision to support the department goals as they relate to the Alberta Health Services overall Mission, Vision, Goals, Philosophies and Policies. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, dynamic leader who thrives on challenge and relishes the opportunity of leading. The position works closely with peers and other groups within the organization and close collaboration with technical staff, nursing, patients, physicians, and management is required. The Cardston Health Centre is an acute care facility that services a large area of southwestern Alberta. Located 40 mins from Waterton, Cardston is a beautiful area that offers many outdoor activities.

Description:

As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) II, you will perform specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You may perform specialized diagnostic imaging procedures for Physician/Radiologist review, interpret physician requisitions and assist with the care and maintenance of imaging equipment.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:

MRT Technologist with strong radiation safety and technical skills in general radiology and portables required. Demonstrated positive attitude and good work ethic. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position. Demonstrated proficient organizational, technical, interpersonal, communication and computer skills. Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility, work effectively independently and within a team environment. Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations required. Demonstrated interest in professional growth and continued education. Demonstrated perception, initiative, judgment and concern for detail and accuracy. Demonstrated tact, courtesy and professionalism with patients, students, AHS staff and physicians. Preferred Qualifications:

EPIC and PACS proficiency an asset. Volunteering for AHS DI Provincial Committees, Superuser training or additional responsibilities in the department an asset. AHS annual continuing education and ACMDTT education requirements up to date and applicable additional courses preferred. Demonstrated participation in AHS Diagnostic Imaging Quality program/Peervue. Experience and aptitude in mentoring students an asset.
