Your Opportunity:This Mammography Medical Radiation Tech II (MRT II) position is currently based out of Foothills Medical Centre but will be moving to the Arthur J.E child Comprehensive Cancer Centre in October 2024. As a Mammography MRTII, you will be responsible for performing mammographic exams to produce high quality images using radiologic digital equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures. These services are performed in an effective, efficient, and safe manner. You will operate computerized imaging equipment including processing and archiving of acquired data and monitoring patients and equipment performance during procedures. As a member of the Diagnostic Imaging team, you will be required to work all shifts.Description:As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) II, you will perform specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You may perform specialized diagnostic imaging procedures for Physician/Radiologist review, interpret physician requisitions and assist with the care and maintenance of imaging equipment.

Required Qualifications:Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:Member in good standing and current registration/eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Minimum two years general technical experience. General knowledge of computers. Ability to work confidently, independently and within collaborative partnerships/teams. Strong organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively liaison with various professionals. Perception, initiative, accountability, good judgment and concern for detail and accuracy. Ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, staff, and physicians. Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations. Ability to effectively communicate in English required. Practices effective radiation protection, infection control and safety techniques as applicable. Preferred Qualifications:Preferred 2 years current Mammography experience. Member in good standing with CAMRT (Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists). Post graduate course(s) in mammography (e.g., CAMRT Mammo I and Mammo II) Specialty Certificate in Breast Imaging.
