Medical Oncologist with HematologyOur client is looking for a Medical Oncologist with a Hematology specialty to join their collegial, multidisciplinary team within the Provincial Oncology program.The Hospital, located in Southern PEI is the provincial referral center for specialized hospital services. The 243-bed facility provides emergency, surgical, inpatient and ambulatory care services.The Centre is located at the in Charlottetown, PEI. A satellite clinic at , Summerside also provides patients from Western PEI access to systemic therapy and follow-up care. This opportunity will typically be based out of Charlottetown. Travel to Summerside may be required on an intermittent basis to meet system needs.HOURS OF WORK:Typical business hours Monday-Friday with occasional after-hours work required.Positions require participation in Provincial Oncology on-call schedule.REMUNERATION: Physicians have the option of choosing salary or fee-for-service payment modality.JOB DUTIES:Responsibilities for the delivery of facility based in-patient care and community-based oncology treatment, including the diagnosis and treatment of patients with cancers or disorders of the blood.The physicians will work closely with specialist colleagues in Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Family Medicine-Oncology physicians through each phase of a patient\'s journey with malignancy.INCENTIVES:Return-in-Service Grant and Moving Expense Allowance are available.Qualified and licensable candidates may be eligible for a return in service grant of $100,000 with a 3 year (5,850 hour) commitment.Opportunity to teach medical students and residents with a faculty appointment from Dalhousie University.Electronic patient record system (hospital based) with access to lab and x-ray reports from the office.QUALIFICATIONS:Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada eligibility or certification.Must have MCCQE1; or complete set of USMLE\'s; or 5 years post training experience.Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).Work experience preferable with at least 1- 2 years of clinical experience working in Canada.Ability to drive and travel the island to various locationsTHE COMMUNITY:Prince Edward Island (PEI) is renowned for its people, arts, culture, food, and innovation.
