Medical Office Assistant
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Office Assistant. As a Medical Office Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office and providing excellent administrative support.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the office calendar
- Collect patient information and update electronic medical records
- Verify insurance coverage and assist with billing and coding tasks
- Prepare examination rooms for patient visits and assist with procedures as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as directed by physicians
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred. Please avoid forwarding your resume or applying if not qualified.
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is strongly preferred
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with electronic medical records systems
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures is a plus
- Knowledge of PSS Suite EMR is an asset
