We are a newly established and growing ophthalmology/retina office seeking a friendly, organized, and eager individual to join our team as a medical office assistant/receptionist.
You will play a vital role in providing an excellent experience for our patients while ensuring the smooth operation of the office.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and check in patients as they arrive, creating a welcoming atmosphere
Manage scheduling, appointments, and patient communications with professionalism
Answer phone calls, provide information, and address patient inquiries
Verify patient information and ensure accurate documentation is maintained
Assist with patient flow and maintain a clean, organized reception area
Perform ophthalmic medical assistant duties as needed, such as taking patient history, prepping patients for exams, and assisting with basic tests
Ensure smooth transitions between front desk and clinical areas
Support the office team with administrative and clinical tasks as required
Assist in surgical administrative duties
Respect and maintain patient confidentiality
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; further education or training in healthcare is a plus
Previous experience in a healthcare or medical office environment is required (at least 1 year)
Experience or education in ophthalmology, retina care, or medical assisting is a plus
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills
Proficiency with computer systems and medical software (Experience with Plexia not required but would be an asset)
Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
A positive, patient-focused attitude with a willingness to learn and grow in the ophthalmic field
