We're Hiring - Medical Office Assistant (Family Clinic, Winnipeg)



Overview:


We are seeking a dedicated and organized

Medical Office Assistant

to join our family healthcare team in Winnipeg. While prior experience in a medical or dental office is preferred, we welcome candidates who are motivated, quick learners, and eager to grow in a healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and be comfortable managing electronic medical records. This role is vital to ensuring smooth daily operations at the front desk, providing excellent patient service, and supporting clinical staff. This position offers an opportunity to work in a professional and supportive environment focused on delivering quality patient care.

Requirements:

Must be a

Permanent Resident of Canada

Must speak

fluent English

(French & English bilingual preferred) Must be available

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (40 hours per week)

Prior experience as a

Dental Receptionist

or

Medical Office Assistant

in a healthcare setting is highly desirable knowledge of

medical and dental terminology

Office experience with

front desk responsibilities

, and

administrative tasks

Excellent

organizational skills

and

attention to detail

Strong

communication and customer service

abilities Familiarity with

medical or dental office procedures and workflows

Professional demeanor and the ability to thrive in a

fast-paced environment


Duties:

Greet patients and visitors professionally at the front desk, providing a welcoming environment Manage phone system to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages Maintain and update electronic medical records Verify patient insurance information and process billing or payments as needed Assist with appointment scheduling, cancellations, and rescheduling to optimize clinic flow Prepare patient charts and documentation for clinical staff Handle administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and managing correspondence Support clinical staff by coordinating patient flow and ensuring all necessary documentation is ready for appointments Ensure compliance with

HIPAA regulations

and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
Job Details:

Salary:

$17-$20/hour (based on experience)

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (40 hours per week)

Training:

Paid 1-week training provided

Experience:

Previous experience as a Medical Office Assistant is an asset but not mandatory
