Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (negotiable)
ABOUT THE ROLE:
This 13-month maternity leave contract is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving Cardiology Practice at St. Paul's Hospital with some of the most respected professionals in the industry. As a member of the St. Paul's Hospital Providence Heart General Cardiology Clinic, you will be a critical member of the support team dedicated to working predominantly with 1 Cardiologist, who is the Physician Lead of General Cardiology and the Medical Director of the Clinic. In addition, you will work alongside other Medical Office Assistants, ensuring you will always have experienced resources to learn from and a strong team to work with. This opportunity provides valuable experience for your future endeavours and at the end of the term, the right candidate may discuss options to continue with us.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Efficient usage of the iClinic EMR and Cerner EMR or willingness to learn
Scheduling patients and clinical tests
Managing referrals
Billing, including re-submission of rejected billings
Answering / triaging patient phone calls and emails
Managing MD schedule, including on-call and meetings
Maintenance of patient confidentiality
Explanation of investigations and test preparation (simple terms)
REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires an efficient, well-organized individual with excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills. Completion of a Medical Office Assistant Program from a recognized institution is preferred.
Additional Requirements include: Knowledge of medical terminology
Able to learn and adapt to EMR
Computer / email / digital fax / scanner / printer usage
Excellent organizational and time management abilities
Ability to multi-task
Ability to work well with others, including patients, other MOAs and MDs
Compassion and patience
Interest in patient health care and well-being
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
A competitive annual salary will be provided. For the right candidate, the position could become permanent and health and dental benefits will be provided at that point, with a year-end bonus dependent on performance.
