Job Description

Our busy medical practice is looking for a part-time medical office assistant to join our team.Job responsibilities:

• Greet patients, check them in for appointments, obtain basic vital signs and weight. Scanning and uploading documents to the EMR.
• Book patients for new consults and follow-up appointments. Scheduling and confirming patient appointments
• Maintain a list of referrals that have been received, and a waiting list of patients.
• Help to maintain an accurate and updated list of medications in the EMR by ensuring patients bring a list of medications.
• Upload glucometers and upload into Accuro EMR (training can be provided)
• Communicate with other health care provider offices, patients and families.
• Assist with the physician's overall schedule.
• Help to ensure exam rooms are kept fully stocked.
• Support allied health providers (e.g. nurse) working in the diabetes clinic.
• Light cleaning and maintenance of work space and waiting area
• COVID screening for in-person patient appointments

Work experience and skills:

• Medical office assistant experience: at least 1 year (preferred)
• Experience working with EMRs (expected)
• Accuro EMR familiarity (preferred)
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)

Education:

• Completion of a Medical Office Assistant program or relevant working experience

Part-time hours: 20-25 per weekSalary: $18.00 per hourSchedule:

• 4 hour shift
