About Us
We are the Somerset West Community Health Centre (SWCHC), a non-profit, community-governed organization that serves over 16K clients annually. We provide a wide range of health care services such as primary health care, health promotion, community development, mental health and harm reduction. We are deeply connected to the communities we serve. We make our work meaningful for our community by striving to ensure that our team reflects the community we serve. We work within an anti-racism, anti-oppression framework that acknowledges systemic racism exists and seeks to ensure that systems are fair and equitable for everyone.
The Safer Supply Ottawa Initiative is a collaborative pilot being offered through partnerships with various agencies in Ottawa. This initiative will provide low barrier and rapid access to pharmaceutical opioids to people who use drugs in Ottawa as an alternative to the contaminated illegal drug supply. The goal of this pilot is to reduce the risk of overdose and other harms caused by the current toxic drug supply while re-engaging and rebuilding trust with those involved in the program and the health care systems. In addition to the safer supply program the clinic at SWCHC offers all Opioid Agonist Treatment options as well as full wrap around care and support for people who use drugs.
Position Description
