Job Description

This role at Central Alberta Orthopedics (CAO) requires a highly professional and personable individual who demonstrates strong critical thinking, clear and concise communication, organizational skills, and who enjoys working in a busy environment with growth opportunities. This individual must respectfully interact with all team members and foster a patient centered approach.

The MOA is responsible to Safely execute work which includes; scheduling for physicians, scheduling patients into available operating rooms, managing patient consents and medical records, calls, questions, emails, education and building invoices, receiving and reconciling payments and ensuring all MOA activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner. Activities are planned, scheduled, and executed effectively and efficiently while complying with all CAO and regulatory, health, safety and environmental codes, practices, policies, and regulations.

Safety



Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Ensure timely reporting and analysis of incidents, near misses, and hazards.

Performance



Managing surgical waitlist. Scheduling patients into available operating rooms. Book in-clinic consults Book initial assessment clinics / Teleconsultations Book post op follow-ups Order applicable forms and booklets. Building and booking X-ray's. Building invoices, receiving, and reconciling payments. Creating and maintaining templates and forms for each surgeon and initial assessment physician. Investigate patient records on Netcare and Accuro. Investigate physician clinic notes and tasks in order manage patient. Managing patient consents, phone calls, emails, and education. Processing doctor mail, filing documents, faxes and cleaning and stocking of clinic rooms. Provide coverage for other departments (Example: Receptionist, MOA's).

Training



Ensure the required levels of competencies are achieved by completing all required training and maintain records.

Communication



Communicate relevant support, concerns, and information with, patients, teammates, surgeons, and supervisor using the appropriate methods. Share lessons learned, best practices and cost saving initiatives to enable continuous improvement.

Leadership



Actively promote and provide safe, quality patient centered care. Participate in development, verification and approval of procedures and documents. Ensure all procedures and documents are accurate, used and filed as required. Provide specific training, support and guidance to staff and students.

Pay: $22.29-$28.92 per hour
