Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing administrative support in a medical office setting, ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong clerical skills and have experience in various administrative tasks, including scanning, referrals, booking appointment's, updating and maintaining EMR's, following up on tasks . Your ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and manage office functions will be essential to delivering excellent patient care.

Responsibilities



Manage patient scheduling and appointments efficiently. Maintain accurate patient records and files, ensuring confidentiality. Support with billing and coding processes. Handle incoming calls and inquiries, providing information to patients and directing them appropriately. Support with transcriptions and referrals'. Support the office with clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and document preparation, scanning, maintain fax server, updating EMR's. Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate effective communication within the team. Assist in training and development of new staff members as required. Participate in budgeting processes and payroll management to ensure financial accuracy.

Requirements



A positive attitude and participating as an active team member is essential in this role. Must be adaptive to a daily changing environment. Must be able to perform duties and tasks within a high pressured and fast paced work environment. Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably within a medical or healthcare environment. Experience with Accuro and Ocean MD platforms considered an asset. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Proficiency in office software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite). Familiarity with medical terminology is an asset. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while managing individual responsibilities. Experience in human resources or team management is desirable but not mandatory. A proactive approach to problem-solving and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
