Position Overview: Medical Office Assistant
We are seeking a professional, organized, and compassionate
Medical Office Assistant
to join our dynamic team. You will serve as the first point of contact for patients and play a critical role in ensuring efficient clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and update patient records using
CRM and EMR systems
(Juvonno, Jane, or TELUS preferred)
Greet patients warmly and manage phone, email, and in-person communications
Schedule appointments based on patient treatment plans
Verify patient information and insurance details prior to appointments
Submit insurance claims through
TELUS
portals (EHC, HCAI, WSIB)
Address billing inquiries and manage payment processing
Prepare examination rooms and maintain cleanliness of clinic spaces
Sterilize medical equipment and restock clinical supplies
Perform light laundry and support overall hygiene and sanitation protocols
Send appointment reminders and coordinate patient follow-ups
Assist with patient education, community wellness events, and clinic outreach
Provide administrative support to clinical staff as required
Excellent and professional communication skills
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
in Healthcare Administration or related field
Minimum
1 year of experience
as a Medical Office Assistant or in a similar healthcare role
Strong understanding of
medical terminology
and front desk procedures
Proficiency with
EMR systems
(experience with Juvonno, Jane, or TELUS is an asset)
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Highly organized and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment
Maintains strict confidentiality and professionalism
