Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and team-focused Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our clinic. This role involves a blend of administrative and clinical support responsibilities, ensuring high-quality care to patients and their families.

Work Schedule & Compensation:



32-40 hours per week. Monday-Friday Starting wage: $19/hour. Benefits eligibility after 3 months.

Key Responsibilities:



Answer telephone, office emails, and messages promptly and professionally. Schedule and coordinate patient appointments. Process and respond to incoming e-faxes and other communications in a timely manner. Liaise with other healthcare professionals as necessary to coordinate patient care (e.g. referring physicians, subspecialists, allied health professionals, social workers, public health). Maintain patient records and ensure data accuracy. Escort patients to exam rooms and support them during clinical care as needed. Obtain and document patient measurements (e.g., height, weight, head circumference, blood pressure). Perform basic clinical tasks such as urinalysis screening and room preparation ("flipping" exam rooms). Stock and clean exam rooms, ensuring supplies are replenished and surfaces sanitized. Perform minor cleaning duties in the waiting area as necessary, such as wiping furniture during the day. Support overall office organization and cleanliness.

Qualifications:



Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients and external agencies. Ability to handle sensitive data with discretion, ensuring privacy and confidentiality. Sensitivity and compassion toward patient needs, with an understanding of cultural and gender inclusivity. Self-motivation, adaptability to change, and proactive mindset. Detail-oriented and able to remain calm in busy or stressful situations. Proficiency with computer systems and office equipment, including Microsoft and G Suite apps.
