The Alex Community Health Centre offers accessible, team-based primary care for individuals who often face complex health and social challenges. Our clinic serves as a medical home for clients, integrating physical health, mental health, and social supports under one roof. We support people at every stage of their journey, helping them build trust, stability, and long-term wellness in a welcoming environment.
Reporting to the Clinic Manager, Medical Office Assistants (MOAs) operate within the clinic environment, coordinating client services, managing the physical clinic environment, handling health information via the electronic medical record (EMR) and The Alex's social services data platform, and facilitating communication between clients, clinicians, administration, and external care providers. MOAs rotate through various key roles and workstations and play a critical role within their assigned team of healthcare professionals.
