Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional front desk support, manage patient interactions, and ensure smooth administrative operations within a busy medical or dental office. This role offers an opportunity to work in a professional environment where attention to detail and excellent communication skills are essential. Prior experience with electronic medical records and office management systems is highly valued. The position is paid and requires a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and delivering outstanding patient service. HOURS: Monday-Friday 12pm-5pm.

Duties



Greet patients and visitors in a friendly, professional manner at the front desk Manage multi-line phone systems, schedule appointments, and confirm patient visits Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Telus Medaccess. Collect patient information, update medical histories, and verify insurance details Assist with administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and correspondence Handle billing and coding procedures in compliance with healthcare regulations Support clinical staff by preparing examination rooms and managing supply inventory Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other privacy standards to protect patient confidentiality

Qualifications



Previous experience as Medical receptionist or medical office assistant preferred (1 Year experience) Proficiency with electronic medical records systems such as Telus Medaccess. Strong knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment Experience working with multi-line phone systems and handling front desk operations Office experience in healthcare settings is highly desirable Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, staff, and providers Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and confidentiality
This position is ideal for candidates who are committed to providing exceptional patient care while maintaining efficient administrative workflows. Prior experience in medical or dental offices will be considered an asset for success in this role.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
