Medical Office Assistant & Administrator
As a member of the clinical team, the medical office administrator (MOA) works cooperatively with all team members to support the clinic and its operations, including physicians and patients. The medical office assistant and administrator works collaboratively with our health care team to provide the best patient experience possible. The MOA is responsible for all administrative tasks and customer service regarding patient appointment experience from time of initial referral to discharge. The MOA reports to the Senior Manager and Operations Manager.
Qualifications:
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
High level of professionalism
High level of proficiency in customer service
Proficient computer skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an inter-professional team as well as independently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations
Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) platforms considered an asset
1-2 years' experience in a clinical or medical setting is considered an asset
Completion of Medical Office Administrator diploma is considered an asset
Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong time management capabilities
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese considered an asset
Responsibilities/Tasks:
Including but not limited to:
Facilitating registration, check-in and check out of patients
Coordinating the flow of patients in the examination and treatment areas
Scheduling patient appointments by telephone, email, or in-person
Completing daily tasks such as printing, faxing, organizing physician mail and biopsy processing
Completing assigned tasks from attending physicians
Stocking of examination rooms and bathrooms
Disinfection and cleaning of examination rooms
Answering patient inquiries by telephone, email or in-person
Process patient payment when required
Coverage for other administrators as required
May be required to assist with transcription services or billing
Other tasks as assigned
Available to work Monday through Friday beginning at 6:45AM
Compensation:
Remuneration will be assessed and offered based on education level, clinical experience, and applicable skillsets
Hourly base pay and vacation pay following a bi-weekly pay schedule
