About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Anatomical Pathology Technical Manager, and under the supervision of the Technical Supervisor, the Medical Laboratory Technical Specialist performs analyses and procedures offered by the division using appropriate methodologies and quality assurance techniques. Under the direction of the Pathologist or certified Pathologist Assistant the Gross Room Medical Laboratory Technical Specialist possess the knowledge, technical abilities, and problem-solving skills to perform complex Gross Room activities following procedures, processes, protocols, and policies. The Gross Room Medical Laboratory Technical Specialist and has some administrative responsibilities in designated areas of the division, including participating in the development of procedures and process mapping. Working conditions include daily exposure to chemicals. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times as deemed essential by the Medical Laboratory Technologist Code of Conduct.
