Job Summary
The PerceiveMD team is looking for a
Part-Time Medical Doctor
Flexible, virtual hours for Medical Doctor currently registered and licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia
. Set your own hours (half or full days, weekly, biweekly etc). Clinic space available Tuesday-Friday, up to 12 hours weekly to start.
The Medical Doctor is an integral part of our multidisciplinary team-based, patient-focused clinic. You will work alongside a team of pharmacists, nurses, and cannabis coaches to provide comprehensive medical cannabis assessments.
Previous physicians have worked at our clinic for 6+ years and have thoroughly enjoyed the camaraderie and multidisciplinary team based care, as well as the flexibility and pace of work (no rushing through appointments).

Computer with microphone, video, and Google Chrome
Quality Wi-Fi: your internet connection should be stable and fast enough to handle video conferencing, (please check your internet speed, Google search: "Google Speed Test", you should have a minimum of 10mbps upload speed)
Desk or ergonomic workstation with privacy
Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced, private practice setting. They are capable of learning new information, have excellent communication skills, are caring and compassionate, presentable and have a positive, upbeat personality that adapts well and quickly to changes. They can type at least 55 WPM and have intermediate computer skills. Experience with Input Health EMR is an asset. You will be working as a team with pharmacists, nurses, and coaches; valuing positive teamwork, non-toxic workplace environments, and learning together as a team.
Experience working in addictions is a plus. Compassion and patience are non-negotiable. We are a non-union company and a MSP-billed practice clinic with a focus on collecting data to help better understand treatments.
Knowledge of Medical cannabis is an asset but not required. Training will be provided. A keen interest in learning is mandatory. The candidate will be passionate about medical cannabis and the health benefits it provides. They will have a desire to maintain and update their education on medical cannabis as this is a quickly evolving and changing industry. We work with a complex array of patient demographics.
Duties and Responsibilities
(include but not limited to):
Review patient history, patient presentation, and team assessments to determine whether medical cannabis is an appropriate treatment
Discuss benefits and potential side effects of medical cannabis with patients
Make recommendations for medical cannabis, specifying appropriate cannabinoid(s) and their dosage(s)
Determine the need for follow-up appointments
Update patient records and check records for accuracy at each patient appointment.
Deliver quality care while maintaining all company metrics pertaining to productivity.
Maintain confidentiality and act in an ethical manner, consistent with professional expectation.
Maintain clinical competence and currency with legislation affecting practice.
Work in collaboration with the interprofessional team to provide primary health care to manage the needs of the patients.
