We have an exciting opportunity for a Medical Advisor to join our strong team in the Medical Services department.You\xe2\x80\x99ll partner with adjudicative staff, occupational safety and hygiene officers, and community physicians to help injured workers in their recovery, rehabilitation, and safe return to work. You\xe2\x80\x99ll primarily play a medico-legal role sharing your opinions and recommendations about workers\xe2\x80\x99 medical conditions, causes, and treatments. • Evaluate medical impairments and disabilities through review of electronic records and share your opinions about cause, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis by way of written opinions or discussion in team meetings
• Provide evidence-based medical recommendations to adjudicating officers making claim entitlement decisions
• Collaborate with community physicians to ensure workers\xe2\x80\x99 rehabilitations and medical-management needs are being met
• Work in a case-management team environment with both medical and non-medical colleagues, providing opinions and recommendations

• Eligible for full licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia
• A minimum of five years of experience in clinical practice including family medicine, sports medicine, or emergency medicine and an an interest in rehabilitation, mental health, or occupational medicine
• An interest in occupational health and safety and disability management concepts, including return-to-work planning
• Willing to work in a team-based environment
• Excellent communication skills
